How to use it
- Paste your product list or pick a CSV file: barcode; product; price; stock. Press “Load the list”.
- Type the barcode, scan it with a scanner device, or press “Open camera” and hold it up.
- See the price and stock on the product card; press “− 1” as you sell and “+ 1” as goods arrive. Save an unknown barcode on the spot.
Good to know
- The camera opens only when you press “Open camera” and allow it in the browser prompt; the picture is not recorded or sent. If you do not allow the camera you can type the barcode.
- Camera scanning varies by browser: where supported the browser’s own reader is used, otherwise a reader built into the page. The page must be opened over https for the camera.
- The list is kept only in this device’s browser and is lost if you clear browser data. Take regular backups; the backup file also moves it to another device.
- Barcode scanner devices (USB or Bluetooth) act like a keyboard; just scan into the box.
Frequently asked questions
Which barcodes does it read?
EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC, Code 128, Code 39 and QR codes. Camera success depends on light and print quality.
How do I prepare my product list?
Write barcode, product, price and stock columns in Excel and copy them, or save as CSV. The headed template is on the “Free Excel templates” page.
Does stock drop by itself when I sell?
No; this is a lookup and simple stock-counting tool. You press “− 1” when you sell.
Can I see it on another phone?
Download the backup and load it on the other device with “Restore from a backup”; there is no live sync.
Can I print barcode labels?
This tool is for reading and lookup; printing barcode labels is not available yet.
