Websites: three jobs whose scope is written down for your business

A corporate presentation site, a portfolio / service site, or a landing and quote-collection page. The scope of each job is written down before work starts. There is no price or delivery time on this page: both are discussed per job.

Let’s talk about a website

Three scopes

Corporate presentation site

A site that presents your business, services or products and lets people contact you.

Who it is for
Businesses that want to present their service or product, build trust and receive enquiries.
Scope
Home, about, services (or products) and contact pages; a design that works on phone and desktop; a contact form; basic search-engine settings (page title and description, site map). The number of pages is settled in writing before work starts; where the requests are sent is settled in writing before work starts.
Content we need from you
Company details and logo; texts for the services or products; photos (taken by you or that you may use); contact details; your existing domain and hosting details if any; the company name for the privacy (KVKK) notice.
Installation
Uploading to the chosen hosting, connecting the domain and setting up a secure connection (SSL). Whose name the domain and hosting accounts are opened in is settled in writing before work starts.
Delivery
A live site and its access details; we check it together at hand-over. Who updates the content later, and how, is settled in writing before work starts.
Support
The fixing period after hand-over, the support channel and maintenance are settled in writing before work starts. There is no standard support period defined today.

Portfolio / service site

A site that shows the work you do or your services with pictures and short descriptions.

Who it is for
Freelancers and small firms that want to show the work they have done.
Scope
Home, a list of works or projects with a detail page for each, services, about and contact; an image gallery; phone support; basic search-engine settings. The number of works or projects is settled in writing before work starts.
Content we need from you
Photos of your work and short descriptions; the permission of a client before their name is shown (without permission it is not shown); a list of services; logo; contact details.
Installation
Uploading to the chosen hosting, connecting the domain and setting up a secure connection (SSL). Whose name the accounts are opened in is settled in writing before work starts.
Delivery
A live site, access details and a joint check. Who adds new work later, and how, is settled in writing before work starts.
Support
The fixing period after hand-over, the support channel and maintenance are settled in writing before work starts. There is no standard support period defined today.

Landing and quote-collection page

A single page that collects quote requests from visitors for one service or campaign.

Who it is for
Those who want to put one service forward and collect quote or information requests from visitors.
Scope
One page: a description of the service, only verifiable trust information, frequently asked questions and a request form; phone support. The fields of the form, where the requests are sent (for example by e-mail) and the privacy (KVKK) link are settled in writing before work starts.
Content we need from you
The description and photos of the service; frequently asked questions; what the request form should ask; company details for the privacy notice; contact details.
Installation
Uploading to the chosen hosting, connecting the domain (or a subdomain) and setting up a secure connection (SSL); testing that form requests reach the right address.
Delivery
A live page and a joint test of the form. Who changes the page text later is settled in writing before work starts.
Support
The fixing period after hand-over, the support channel and maintenance are settled in writing before work starts. There is no standard support period defined today.

Which scope suits you?

  • If customers look for you and want reassurance, and contact details and a form are enough to reach you: a corporate presentation site.
  • If you need to show your work or projects one by one, with pictures: a portfolio / service site.
  • If you are collecting quote or information requests for one service or campaign: a landing and quote-collection page.
  • If you need to sell products, offer memberships or take online payment, these three scopes are not enough; the need is discussed separately as custom software.

What is outside the scope

Membership and login, online payment, e-commerce (selling products) and connections to outside services are not part of these three scopes. If you need them they are checked separately and priced separately. If a ready-made software fits your business, look at the software catalogue. Software catalogue

How we proceed

  1. You use the contact form, the phone or WhatsApp.
  2. Your need and whether the job can be done are reviewed in a first conversation; if it is not a job I can do, I say so plainly.
  3. If a job comes up, the scope, the content we need from you, installation, delivery, support and price are settled in writing before work starts.
  4. Installation and delivery are done and checked together.

Examples

There is no client site I can show on this page yet, and I do not add made-up references. Instead, you can look at web work of my own, with its screens in the catalogue:

Frequently asked questions

What are the price and delivery time?

They are set according to the scope of the job before work starts; I do not write a price or a time on this page.

Whose name are the domain and hosting opened in?

It is settled in writing before work starts. There is no standard decision on this yet; it depends on the job and your preference.

Who updates the site afterwards?

It is settled in writing before work starts: whether you will update it or I will, and whether that costs extra.

Who owns the site files and rights?

It is settled in the written agreement. There is no ready standard text for this yet.
